EVS - a project for youngsters, a project for future
Kalimera, my dear followers, I wrote my first article to make a small indirect introduction of what EVS means through non-formal learning. But Know I would like to explain more about my project, about how it works and how I got in Greece. "Moving Youth" is my EVS project taking place from 2nd November 2016 to 2nd September, 2017 in Komotini, Greece, hosted by System and G in Greece.
My project's philosophy as well as our project theme are ethics, democracy and Human Rights and youth policies and participation. I am coming from Moldova, but I decided to leave it for a period of 10 months to learn new theoretical information to develop some old and new skills and to meet new people with whom I will create new partnership. Moving in another country means learning and adjust the new knowledge to develop as a person and help the social and daily life development in our community. Through non formal activities our project will redefine the habits and the needs of youth in Komotini, underline the need to respect our environment and our health. "Moving Youth" means to adopt an active life style that is beneficial for youth as well as the social environment they live in. We - the volunteers will be the example for the whole community as we will create events and implement various activities. Moreover we - two youngsters from Moldova - me and Carolina Dodon will work on projects which aim to create a better life for youngsters, especially for those with fewer chances and those who are having luck educational support at their daily life. This systematic work along with all the other activities of System and G will be able to create a System of unofficial rules that will be adopted by our citizens and change our community to a better way. In addition through inter-cultural activities we will present our culture, and through daily life we will be integrated in the Greek society. "Moving Youth" has also another meaning as promotes the youth mobility as a tool for the personal development and social change. The program will offer to the local youth a non-formal series of methods for good life, inspired by non-formal education. Methods and activities were adapted to the city's life, to promote our aims in different target groups such as: University Students, High School Students, unemployed youth and young people with fewer opportunities (focus on the city's religious diversity). Today, more and more often unfortunately we meet young people with serious challenges that block them from a bright future. In combination with the financial crisis in Greece the situation in society is getting worse with Human Rights been in the shadow. At the same time, refugees crisis support the far rights opinion and help xenophobia to raise up in our society. Diversity is missing and everything different is not right. Volunteers working with young people will learn and develop ways to face these challenges that both are beneficial for themselves and the social environment! Promoting active participation in the city's democratic life and offer educational opportunities to the young people is the first step for a better society.
Please subscribe, and hope my stories will bring a lot of motivation for you to start to do voluntary work!
